The BIG Debate!

So Matt and I are having a pretty heavy debate these days! I have an ultrasound scheduled for February 7th ( I will be 18 weeks!) and we can't agree on whether or not we will find out the baby's sex! Needless to say, I am the one who wants to find out and Matt is the one who is all geared up for a big surprise. Isn't it a surprise either way?! Well my deal is that I want to be prepared for when the baby comes! I have been waiting for some huge moment where my maternal instincts will kick in and I will just KNOW what I am having. That way Matt can be surprised and I can be prepared! I have all these big plans...I want to make the crib bedding this time around, I want to make little bows and dresses if it's a girl and buy a few new things if it's a boy (nobody wants to be the "hand-me-down" kid!). So that is my big dilemma. I'm sure that it's neat to wait and find out in all the flurry of the moment....but it would sure help if I was the kind of person who had patience for that kinda thing!! What do the dads care? They don't really have much involvement until the baby is here...us moms are in it from the get-go! So what do I do? Do I just buy things and keep all the receipts and make things with the knowledge that I may just be giving them away? I am open for advice, suggestions, inspiring stories and so on! I have about 4 weeks to make a decision, and I'm just waiting for something to push me in one direction or the other!

Oh man, that is a hard one! LUckily Derrick and I were always in agreement with that because I don't have patience to waite and see. Kudos to those who can, but my thing is it is still a huge surprise to see what they look like when they get here even if they know the sex. Maybe you can buy mutual color stuff it is a boy or girl? Sorry, that's the best I can come up with:)...Good luck!

Haha...what a funny debate. Ronnie and I are in a similar one, and I'm not even pregnant. How about you two find out, and just keep it from everyone else! That's what we have talked about doing but I know Ronnie can't keep quiet! Pick out a boy's name and a girl's name ahead of time so if someone asks you can tell them you have a name for each picked out. As for bedding and clothes, keep it neutral!

You're right, it's a suprise no matter when you find out! And finding out now will give you time to prepare~ who wants to get a nursery together w/ a newborn baby?! And of course if it's a girl, you'll want to be PLENTY prepared!! Love you, let us know!!
