{TWO BEAUTIFUL DAYS}

We survived our camping trip! In fact we had a great time! I will say that the camping trailer played a large part in that. I don't know if I could keep my sanity so well without warm running water and semi-comfy beds to sleep in. I have a new appreciation for my parents who took us camping every summer! We took our 4-room tent, countless boxes of food, clothes and dishes, huge pots to boil water in, and a plastic tub for bathing in! And of course I can't neglect to mention that most years there were at least 5 kids under the age 10! That is dedication! But back to this weekend. Gage loved being out in the wild with no doors to restrain him and no particular schedule to stick to! He was so much fun just to watch. I think he rode the ATC's more than anyone else did. Anytime we got within 5 feet of one he thought we were going on a ride and he loaded himself in! And who could turn down such a cute hopeful face?! Garrett did very well. He slept a lot during the days and all through the nights. It was so nice to get out and just relax and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. You know? I realized that it has been years since I have just taken the time to look up at the sky and enjoy the stars. The night sky was absolutely beautiful Saturday night. The Milky Way was so obvious and the Big Dipper looked like it was about to scoop us right up. Matt and I watched a falling star. It was beautiful. It was humbling. I am so happy to have had that moment. I just wish I could have caught it in a picture. Though I don't know if it would have been so profound to me on any other day. But right then and there, that was exactly what I needed and exactly where I needed to be. I felt it. It was one of those WOW moments. I loved it! Early Sunday morning I woke up to the sound of rain. I love the sound of rain while camping, like you're inside a tin can or something. I find it very soothing. All the moisture sent us directly into packing mode when we were up. And that was the end of our camping adventure. We really enjoyed our quick getaway but it was definitely nice to come home and freshen up. I couldn't wait to wash our laundry! It's funny actually. When I was younger I would get so upset when my Mom would wash my jacket after camping. I absolutely loved the smell of the campfire on me. Even to this day it's a smell that brings on a flood of happy memories. However, I can part with it much easier now! Well I will wrap this up in saying that we had a great Labor Day weekend and hope that you all did too!
