the hubby's side of the family was able to make it here to enjoy the holiday with us which was sure a nice treat for the boys! they had such a fun time with everyone...especially their cousin trenton.
the weather was gorgeous for our thanksgiving festivities. maybe even a little too gorgeous being that we are used to snow flurries and icy breath where we come from.
we played some soccer, played on the rope swing and then raked up a gigantic pile of leaves and let the three wild boys loose. i think it was nearly as fun for us to watch as for them to actually do.
i love getting outside and enjoying the simplicity of life. no electricity, no batteries and no butt-sitting required.
we had a great thanksgiving. i'll share my favorite parts::the sweet potatoes and sitting down and listening to matt's nana and poppy talk about their younger years. i'm a sucker for that kind of thing.
and now a little tattling on myself::this was the first thanksgiving where i wasn't around my side of the family (well except for my brother, who is also my brother-in-law, you do the math) and i will say that it made me emotional. i realize that life takes it's turns and all we can do is accept it, but i sure did miss them dearly.
thank you to all our family who was able to make it out here and spend the week with us! we had such a fun time and already miss you all too!
here's to family and life's simple moments. now onto christmas we go and i just can't wait!
xoxo. ash
