{ the "kisses for callie" giveaway!::Comment for a Cause!}

THE CAUSE

For those of you who are new to my blog, "Kisses for Callie" is a donation account that was set up for my beautiful 20 month old sister, Callie Jayne. Or as I like to refer to her 'Little California'!

On September 8th, sweet little Callie's world was rocked. She was backed up over in our parents' driveway by a family friend. She was air-evacced to a Phoenix hospital where she immediately underwent a CT Scan. Her injuries were severe. {You can read more by visiting THIS post} Despite the grim prognosis of the doctors, our family knew that Callie needed nothing from us but our faith and our love. We were joined by numerous friends, family and even strangers in praying and fasting on Callie's behalf.

Happily, after weeks in a comatose state, our little fighter is on that road to healing and recovery. She has been in an intense rehabilitation program with a wonderful staff. Her progress has been nothing short of a miracle and has inspired countless people. You can read more on this progress by reading through past posts or by visiting my Mom's blog HERE.

So this is our cause. To provide what help we can to this sweet baby girl who has fought so hard to stay with us and still has a tough fight ahead of her.

Ashley, I'm so impressed and honored by your family. I have been keeping tabs on little Callie and Praise God for His healing touch. You honor His work by giving back ... it isn't something you see everyday. Thank you for being such a great example of faith and love in the toughest of times. My prayers are with each and every one of you. BIG KISSES for little Callie. ~ Amanda Montes

Hi Ashley! So my little brother, Ethan Massengill Anderson, is dating your sister, Amber. I've heard a lot about Callie, especially because Ethan and Amber visit my mom and I when they're down here together (which isn't that often). I've been checking your blog just to keep up with Callie, and I am amazed every time there is a new post, at what a fighter Callie is! I've never met her, but she is an example for us all! So I've been lurking for a while, and figured this would be the perfect time to actually show my face, because it's for a good cause, and I could get something cool out of it! So, my prayers are with Callie and your family, and keep up the amazing updates!

So if each comment equals a one dollar donation, if I comment more than once does it count for two dollars? I know you don't know who I am but as a mother I can not even imagine what your family has and is going through with all of this. I hope and pray for your family that your little California, as you like to call her, is able to make a full recovery!

I love the necklace! I don't have any jewelry and would love to start collecting. Also, I added your donate button for your little Callie to my blog sidebar. Praying for little Callie.

Firstly, I am glad little Callie is doing well, an old school friend lost a child this way, terrible. so I am glad your story has hope.

With hope as my theme, I think the little birdsnest necklace epitomises hope.. birds have such challenges to get their babies to adulthood, yet they persevere, and mostly win in the end.
I would choose this necklace, its beautiful.

I will post your comp in my competition list on my blog.

Preston said...

Wow I am truly moved and it is unbelievable story of heartache and courage. And what a great name, Kisses for Callie. If I were to win, I would love the Apron as my daughter collects (and wears) vintage aprons.

Wanted you to know I will keep sweet Callie in my prayers.
And to boot, would LOVE to win one of your give-aways too. I am drawn to that pretty bag, love the colors and the design is so pretty!

What an amazing heart you have, strength, love and blog! I know tragedy and struggle myself. It is not an easy road. There are many days when you wake up not knowing how you are going to make it through the day, but you do. People often say to me, you are so brave i dont know if i could do what you do. I am confused by this and respond, what other choice do i have?? BUT you do have another choice. You could stay in bed, not talk about it, cry, feel sorry for yourself, find someone to blame etc...BUT YOU DIDNT AND YOU DONT. Not only is your story very sad & inspirational but its so full of love and life. What you do is absolutely amazing and if there is anyway I can support you please know I am here. You and your sister will be in my thoughts daily. After reading this you have become a part of my life, even though I don't know you. Now that I know how difficult tragedy is I can truly understand and appreciate how hard fighting through it is.

If you do another giveaway like this please let me know so I can donate somethings from our coffee shop. Congratulations on being such a wonderful person and especially sister!

Love,
Meaghan

Just wanted you to know that I'm saying a prayer for Callie. She sounds like a very strong little girl who's been blessed with a great family and lots of support.

Your giveaway sounds wonderful! I, especially, would love to win the bird's nest necklace. The three eggs can symbolize my two daughters and I. We're all very close and I dread the day they fly from the "nest". Of course, I'll be excited for them as they test their wings and learn how to FLY on their own!!

God Bless You for all you've done for your sister. I wish you well!

Tracy said...

Praying for Callie, she sounds like such a little fighter ... it's great to hear she's doing better!

I love all the goodies in the giveaway but I necklace is my favorite.
