{flashback friday}

June 15th 2006

**Bright and Early**

Many, many wonderful things took place on this day.

All because of one tiny little person.

Before he was Bossy Pants he was our Little Mister.

Let's start at the beginning of this reminiscence.

I still remember finding out I was pregnant.
I could hardly wait to share the news with The Hubby!

In my head I had all these plans of how I was going to tell him in such clever ways. I schemed and schemed for all of ten minutes...

And then I couldn't hold back anymore. I told him was going to be a daddy!

It's a peculiar reaction he had.
What I think was the perfect concoction of excitement, fear and shock.

We held off for a few weeks before sharing the news with our family.
I bought baby bottles and filled them with Hugs and Kisses {Hershey's} and took them to dinner with us. Everyone was ecstatic.

Our little peanut was going to be the very first Grandchild on both sides and very first nephew slash niece {we weren't sure at the time} for all of our siblings.

He couldn't help but be spoiled.
He was led to it.

The long awaited ultrasound day came at last. I was almost exactly 2o weeks through the pregnancy.

Up to this point I had had pink thoughts, dreamt pink dreams, and wallowed in a pink world that I had fashioned in my hormonal head. I was just sure there was a little girl in my very near future.

I think a lot of this had to do with the fact that little girls were a very familiar thing to me. My four youngest siblings at the time were all fluffy pink people. I had a small part in raising them. And I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You can imagine my shock when they told me that my pink baby had boy parts!

I wasn't disappointed. Not one little bit. I was so relieved to see that our baby was healthy and growing just as he should be.

What I was however, was SCARED.

How in the world was I going to be a mommy to a boy? I knew next to nothing about boys except that when they are teenagers they really enjoy tormenting their sisters and making sure that none of their hot friends EVER got anywhere near them.

And this leads me to one of the wonderful happenings of this day. I discovered the absolute euphoria of a baby boy.

As soon as I held my beautiful blue bundle in my arms, it was love. More love than I knew I had. And I knew that I could be a great mommy to this BOY.

There hasn't been a day that I could wish for anything but this wonderful, sometimes wild, precious boy of mine.

I absolutely love being Bossy Pants' Mommy.
And of course I also love being Baby Boy's Mommy.

I live in a BLUE WORLD and I LOVE it!
{And maybe in one of my next posts I will gush about how The Hubby got even hotter in his new found role as Daddy. I didn't even know that was possible...}

I was there the day you passed out the bottles and made your announcement--I remember how your mom's face lit up (your dad was a little slower on the uptake) when she realized what it meant. A very exciting moment. And with children the excitement never ends, does it?!

Bring on the Blue!! haha Blue is the ONLY color I know. If I was told I was having a girl although I would be very excited I would be a little frieked cause baby girls and little girls are not exactly something I am used to
