pertaining to easter

as far as easter pictures go, this is as good as it gets. the hubby was on shift at the fire department so the children and i flew solo easter morning. we didn't make any grande festivities out of it. their easter duds were ready and waiting on the couch and they set out on a small hunt for their baskets with their big puffy morning eyes. we put everything up and they watched the animated easter story while i got myself and sister ready for church.

that sparked some interesting conversation. and while i didn't go to any extremes this year to instill the proper easter values into my children, it was pleasant and reassuring for me to see that they got it.

off to church we headed, bow ties and all. we had our neighbor and her two daughters join us which was an added bonus. our meetings were wonderful.

we finished out the day with family. it really was a beautiful day in east texas. cool and cloudy and completely void of tornadoes.

all in all i have no fancy pictures to share, no great tutorials on how to be the best mom ever come easter time, no wildy inventive easter food to share...but it was a simple day full of love and things and people who matter a great deal to us. so i would say it was a success.

"He lives, the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind, whose Atonement came as an act of grace for the entire world. . . . He has done for us what we could not do for ourselves. He has brought meaning to our mortal existence. He has given us the gift of eternal life. . . . God be thanked for the gift of His Son, the Redeemer of the world, the Savior of mankind, the Prince of Life and Peace, the Holy One."
