bows and curls or puppy tog tails??

i am just over fifteen weeks along in this pregnancy and finally had my first doctor's visit today. truth be told i loved the doctor i was seeing before we moved and it's been a hard thing to make the leap to see someone new. it's not like this is just a doctor for the sneezy snifflies. oh no. this is a doctor who gets to know ALL of your business. you follow? it's never too comfy to do a meet-and-greet handshake with someone and then two minutes later be all spread eagle on a table with your bare feet in cold stirrups. at least that's my opinion.

but such is life. so you do it and you turn your eyes up to the ceiling and go to your happy place. which is what i did. i was at the beach. it was lovely. and then i was brought back to life when the ice cold sensation of oozy slime hit my tummy. there was the lovely sonogram machine. amazingly enough the non-stop, all day long sickness and protruding belly have not been all i needed to solidify that there is a little person taking up quarters in there. so the first little glimpse of our tiny addition was like coming up for air. we saw the heart fluttering away, we saw wild hands flapping about and tiny little legs stretching to their max. we saw the face, which i know is precious, but at this point reminds me of something not of this world. we saw life inside of life, which will never cease to be amazing to me!

now do you want to know what we didn't see? we didn't see boy parts. not a single trace of them. i kept waiting to get excited thinking that for sure any second i would hear "oh wait. there it is." but that second never came. can it be? will i finally be dragging out "the box" ? i do think so friends, i do think so. it's a GIRL for the broomall home! finally we'll be swinging a little balance this way. the four-year-old and two-year-old are happy with the idea of a sister too! they've even chosen a few more gender appropriate names, which for now are our little secret. i WILL tell you however that their first choice, which was "larry boy", has been happily tossed out. phew!

the ultrasound showed me a week ahead of my due date of November 12th, but for now it looks like we will stick with it. watch out girls department, here i come! {wild eyes and all!}
